The Gibson ES-330 and its near identical sister the Epiphone Casino have come to define the sound of a certain period in rock n roll history. Both models were used extensively during the British Invasion of the mid 60’s and acts including The Beatles, The Stones, The Kinks and The Pretty Things, to name a few, have made use of the sonic hallmark of either a Gibson ES-330 or an Epiphone Casino.

In more recent years the ES-330 and the Epiphone Casino have won over a new generation of devotees in search of the distinctive tone of these models. The Revolver period Beatles sound most famously represents the sonic imprint of these two models. If you’re looking for an ES-330 or a Casino then you probably know this already.

Here is a 2015 Memphis built Custom Shop 1964 ES-330 reissue which is one of only 150 that were produced worldwide. The quality, attention to detail, tone and playability is superb and is about as close as could be expected to a vintage '64 330.

As to be expected this reissue features the highly sought after '64 Gibson neck profile, which along with the '59 profile is really just about the perfect profile in our opinion and is extremely comfortable and responsive to play.

The pair of P-90’s have all of the juicy tone you’d expect of these superb pick-ups, and when combined with the natural volume and resonance of the hollow body deliver a big sound that has warmth, bite and clarity in equal measure.

The overall condition is excellent to near mint with just some light surface scratches on the back, around the jack socket as well the headstock face and pick guard, which are very difficult to capture on camera, and a couple of small nicks - one on the top edge binding around the arm area and another on the heel. All of which are only visible upon very close inspection. Overall this guitar has been very well looked after and is nice and clean. The frets have no wear to speak of.

Somewhere along the way the COA has gone missing but there is a written confirmation from Gibson Customer Services verifying the authenticity. This is reflected in the lower price - the last one of these for sale in the UK was listed at well over £4k.

Comes with a Gibson Custom black tolex case.
